Desdamona: As an activist, mentor, provocateur and teacher, Desdamona comes from a long line of wordsmiths including an award-winning Grandmother, and a story-telling father. She now looks to share, discover and cultivate that love of poetry in young artists though her workshops in schools, at Stillwater prison's In the Belly poetry program, as well as her fifth year of producing The Encyclopedia of Hip Hop Evolution, a quarterly series at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis. A sparkling facet in the spoken word scene, Desdamona curates and hosts poetry events and is featured in The City Aloud, a documentary on the Minneapolis poetry scene. Desdamona is currently developing her third solo CD.

Camp Trans: Camp Trans is an annual gathering of trans people and their allies in Michigan with the intent of:
PROTESTING the exclusion of trans women from women-only spaces, most notably the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival;
BUILDING a trans-inclusive community that is welcoming and safe for all; EMPOWERING the next generation of activists to fight for trans issues locally through organizer trainings, workshops, and leadership development; and ADVOCATING for the inclusion of trans issues in progressive, queer, and feminist movements by building coalitions with supportive organizations and bringing attention to local campaigns.
